“Why does Euroméditerranée not operate outside the district?”
The district is defined as a priority area under the Operation of National Interest. Initially covering 310 hectares in 1995, the district was extended to the north, encompassing an additional 169 hectares, by a decision of the French state and local authorities in late 2007. Totalling 480 hectares, Euroméditerranée is now considered Europe’s largest urban renovation operation.
